Post Doc Pool’s First Application Round in January 2010
On 15th March the Post Doc Pool’s foundations awarded altogether 1.24 million euros in grants to 32 post-doctoral scholars for research abroad. 213 scholars took part in the first application round of the Post Doc Pool this January and applied for altogether 13 million euros.
Applicants came from all over Finland from 18 different universities. Technology, humanities and medicine were particularly well represented. Most applications came from the field of biomedicine (16 applications), physics (14), history (13) and computer science (12). Of all applicants 45% were women and 55% men.
The next application round of the Post Doc Pool is 16.8.–15.9.2010, and 1.26 million euros will be awarded in grants. The spring 2011 application round is 15.12.2010–14.1.2011.
